Italian leading pharmaceutics and nutraceutics group of companies PharmaNutra’s co-founder Andrea Lacorte is also known by his passion to the sea. In the early 2000s, with his partner and brother Roberto, they decided to put together their scientific and commercial insights to change the way people approach health and well-being. Their forward- looking business, strengthened by a continuous and increasingly intense research and development activity and a constant overseas expansion. “When we started out, I had a very clear goal in mind: to put science safely and effectively at the service of nutrition. We created a market and introduced new nutritional concepts and new active ingredients, convinced that our technology is able to make a difference.” says Andrea Lacorte, and talks about his sea life story for Sirena’s Whisper readers.

What’s the meaning of the sea for you and how did your interest in yachting begin?

Sea is absolutely “life” for me. I cannot imagine a life far from the sea. Since I was five years old, I’ve always spent most of my free time on a boat.

We heard that you are owning a racing sail team. What can you tell about this passion? What’s your borders at the sea?

Vitamina Sailing Team existed for fifteen years and actually competed as a professional team of fifteen persons in the Swan 50 class and 32 meters catamarans. Sailing races are the physiological consequence of my sea passion. Borders at the sea? Crossing the Atlantic Ocean!

You are in the pharmaceutical and nutraceutical business also related to sports. Can you tell us briefly The PharmaNutra Group’s foundation and your inspiration behind its success?

With my brother Roberto, we are managing our companies with ambition, a lot of research and innovations and also a competitive attitude. We are both sportsmen and we support many branches from motorsports, sailing, soccer, running, volleyball and, I say very proudly, some paralympic athletes.

For me this is a total reason.T o be at the sea means living well, strong, and morally richer.

What’s your ideal yearly calendar and destinations of yachting?

We never cruise in the same locations and there is a bunch of splendid seas yet to be visited in our fantastic Mediterranean Sea.

How did you encounter Sirena Yachts and what’s your story with the brand?

Very easily. I fell in love with the Sirena 64 when I saw some sea trial images on the web. I’ve called immediately my italian dealer Mr. Granai, and I’ve started the buying process. I was impressed by the quality, beauty and customizing probabilities.

Why was a Sirena 88 your ultimate choice?

It’s a unique boat. The result of a very intelligent project. Majestic and correctly priced.

How was your personalized configuration and interior decoration experience during the production process?

Simply perfect! The boatyard is open to any proposals, much more than any other builders.

What was your experience with interacting with the Sirena team in Italy?

They are extremely professional, sharp and quick in all needs.

What’s the story of naming your last yacht?

I have worked with dietary supplements ever since, mainly vitamins that pay all the bills and deserve the name of all my boats for 25 years. My Vitaminas boats are the best vitamins for my soul.
